Why have you made it five times as difficult to submit a rainfall report as the last website? Get your arse into gear and fix it.

Morning Richard,

I can see that you have provided a rainfall reading this morning  but missed the "Guinness" bit. If you post your reading here I'll add it to the visbot manually for today.

It's always good to receive constructive and well though out feedback. If you would like to supply some that would be helpful.

I apologise Steve. I had read the raingauge in the dark and had not observed the state of the beck. I tripped over a cat, banged my head on the doorstep and burnt my breakfast.

On the previous website I had a url ( http://cavedivinggroup.org.uk/VisForm/visform.php?observer=vis&checksum=F5GyuQqX)   where I entered the amount of rain and selected the viz from a dropdown list. That's all, the date was already set at that day. Now I have to fart about logging in (requiring me to retrieve a details from a password safe). struggle with an up down control to enter the amount of rain and then select the date.

Sorry,  these are trivial things. I blame it on Brexit.

Richard,

You could save some time by clicking the "remember me" box when you next log in. This will keep you logged in so you can go straight to the Visbot reporting page.

I know it's a slight security issue but we're not storing nuclear launch codes. 🙂

The reason you have to select the date when giving a reading is so backdated readings can be given. If the Visbot reporters don't need or want this then I can get it to default to todays date.

Cheers, steve

I find the back dating ability to be pretty useful, for example if I forget to upload and only remember next day.

But I'm with Richard on the point about everything being the fault of Brexit!

😉

Perhaps I should add an "Attributes" drop-down to the Visbot submission page?

Rainfall: 237mm
Visibility: Guinness
Blame (select):

  • Brexit
  • North Korea
  • Donald Trump
  • Decline in moral standards since 1946
  • The French

I find it quicker to just type the numbers in.
