Find attached the agenda for the 2025 CDG AGM which will be hosted by the Welsh Section in the Forest of Dean on Saturday 26th April.  Also attached are the minutes of the 2024 AGM.

The AGM, dinner and overnight accommodation will all be at:

The Dean Field Studies Centre, Parkend, Lydney GL15 4JA

https://maps.app.goo.gl/cwHDPvUN4mqMkeDt6

AGM:

2:30pm sharp.

Tea, Coffee, beer and cider will be available for those who require a drink; please arrive in time to serve yourself.

Quorum

The quorum is 28 members.  So far, we have 13 members booked for the dinner so there is a risk that the AGM will not be quorate.  The meeting will be held even if not quorate, however no changes to the constitution can be made if the meeting is not quorate.

Officers’ Reports

The Officers’ Reports will be circulated 1 week prior to the meeting.

Hi Dave

A couple of things.

1) Have we checked that temporary BCA cover for provisional members includes diving? I think it probably does, but its worth checking with the underwriters.

2) Is there a conflict between temporary overseas members being allowed membership for 2 weeks and temporary BCA cover only covering 4 trips? For overseas temporary members, is it worth mandating some kind of insurance cover equivalent to BCA cover is in place, otherwise limiting it to a maximum of 4 trips over a 2 week period? I'd hate for the BCA to refuse to cover us if there was an incident involving an overseas temporary member.

3) We might need to think about Note 9 on page 5 a little more. It gives the impression that somebody will be covered for cave diving under the BCA policy if they are a prospective member (whatever that means), don't join the CDG, but join the BCA direct (or through a standard caving club). I'm pretty sure this is untrue - you can only get cover for cave diving if you are a member of the CDG and therefore get a Blue Card.  This is then contradicted in final sentence - which correctly states that they must join the CDG after 4 trips. I'd simply just remove the sentence "Upon the 5th visit the member must either join the BCA if they wish to avail of the insurance as a member benefit of joining the BCA, or no longer take part." as it is untrue.

I know these are all edge cases, but its worth ironing them out before committing to them!

Thanks!

B
